The Great Ocean Dash 2025 Drives a High-Impact Ocean Conservation Movement

More than 5,000 participants and supporters gathered at Sentosa’s Palawan Green this morning for The Great Ocean Dash 2025, marking the finale of a five-month national movement championing ocean conservation, coastal protection, and inclusive community participation.

The event was graced by Guest of Honour Mr Eric Chua, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Law and the Ministry of Social and Family Development, who flagged off the run and met community groups, corporate partners, and conservation advocates driving the movement on the ground.

A Powerful Community Moment: From First-Time Runners to Seniors and Young Children

This year’s Great Ocean Dash saw an unprecedented diversity of participants — including families with young children, ocean advocates, first-time runners, seniors up to 88 years old, and community groups representing persons with disabilities and vulnerable youth. The youngest runner was just 2 years old, contributing to an inspiring and inclusive atmosphere that highlighted the campaign’s mission: running for the one thing that connects us — our ocean.

A Record-Breaking Milestone for Singapore

During the event, The Great Ocean Dash was officially recognised by the Singapore Book of Records for leading the Largest Coastal Clean-Up Campaign in Singapore, with 10,397 kg of marine waste collected. This milestone was made possible through the work of the campaign’s Coastal Action Partners across beaches and shorelines islandwide.

Supporting Coral Restoration Through Community Action — $15,000 Donated

As part of its conservation commitment, Orange Room presented a $15,000 donation to the Garden City Fund, received by Dr Karenne Tun, Group Director of the National Biodiversity Centre (NParks).

This contribution supports the 100K Coral Initiative, a national effort to restore and protect Singapore’s coral ecosystems. The donation reflects the Great Ocean Dash pledge demonstrating the campaign’s focus on turning community action into tangible environmental impact.

Partnership at Scale: Corporates, Agencies, and NGOs Unite

The Great Ocean Dash campaign mobilised a broad ecosystem of partners, including:

  • Paramount, led by Anjan Baxi and Christy
  • Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF), represented by CEO Dennis Mark
  • Public Hygiene Council (PHC) — Chairman Mr Andrew Khng, Dr Christina Liew and the PHC team
  • Sentosa Development Corporation — venue and operational support
  • Coastal Action Partners and NGOs committed to ocean conservation
  • Sponsors including JSA, YEO’S, Gardenia and Ten Square

A Campaign Delivered Through Collaboration

The Great Ocean Dash 2025 was co-founded by Orange Room Asia and Resolute Communications, combining expertise in event production, community activation, and sustainability-driven engagement.

“This campaign was built on the belief that every person can play a role in protecting our ocean,” said Elvin Ting, Co-founder of Orange Room.
“Today’s turnout and the collective effort of our partners show what’s possible when communities come together with purpose.”

“It’s inspiring to see so many people come together for a cause that truly matters. Every step we took at the Great Ocean Dash contributes to cleaner waters and a healthier ocean. I’m proud to be part of this movement!” — Gina Pang, Director of Resolute Communications

Continuing the Work Beyond the Finish Line

With the close of the 2025 campaign, partners and stakeholders will continue efforts in coastal stewardship, conservation awareness, and community education heading into 2026.
