Rabani and Ee Va Crowned Flagship 113 Distance Champions at Perak Multisport Festival

Muhammad Rabani Hashim finally climbed to the top step of the podium after winning the flagship 113 Triathlon at the Perak Multisport Festival 2026, while Wong Ee Va successfully defended her women’s title at Marina Island Pangkor over the weekend.

For Rabani, a regular IRONMAN race competitor, the victory marked a significant improvement on last year’s performance after he went one better following his runner-up finish in 2025.

Ee Va, meanwhile, underlined her dominance over the distance by retaining the crown she won last year with another commanding display in the women’s race.

Rabani clocked 5:08:43 to secure the men’s overall title ahead of Abdullah Umar Idrus (5:10:40) and Joseh Taylor (5:22:16) of Great Britain after conquering the gruelling 2km swim, 90km bike and 21km run challenge.

In the women’s event, Ee Va crossed the finish line in 5:25:48 to successfully defend her title, finishing comfortably ahead of Russia’s Elizaveta Prokhorova (6:22:05) and Harum Delima Mohd Noor (6:22:31).

The Olympic Distance titles went to another experienced local multisport athlete, Shahrom Abdullah, who won the men’s race in 2:27:25, while Jacqueline Ng Siew Fong claimed the women’s crown in 3:03:58.

Abdul Rahman Abu Hassan finished second in the men’s Olympic Distance category in 2:29:52 followed by Firdaus Mohamad Jobri (2:30:46), while Hannah Tan Li Ann (3:04:35) and Wong Shu Hui (3:07:03) completed the women’s podium.

Their victories capped another successful edition of the Perak Multisport Festival, which attracted 1,000 participants from 22 countries for two days of triathlon, duathlon and aquathlon competition.

Organised by XS Elite Performance, the event featured the seventh edition of the Perak Triathlon, third edition of the Perak Duathlon and inaugural Perak Aquathlon, reinforcing its status as one of Malaysia’s established multisport festivals.

The programme catered to athletes of various ages and abilities, featuring the 113 Triathlon alongside Olympic Distance (1.5km swim, 40km bike, 10km run), Sprint (750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run), Junior Triathlon (500m swim, 10km bike, 2.5km run), Kids Triathlon (200m swim, 5km bike, 1km run) and Mini Triathlon (100m swim, 2km bike, 500m run) categories.

The festival also incorporated various duathlon events and the newly introduced Perak Aquathlon, broadening its appeal within the endurance sports community.

Held against the scenic backdrop of Marina Island Pangkor, the event continued to showcase Perak’s growing reputation as a destination for endurance sports and active tourism.

The festival was sanctioned by Malaysia Triathlon Association and received support from Tourism Malaysia, Tourism Perak, Majlis Perbandaran Manjung, Marina Island Pangkor, various government agencies and commercial partners.

Race director Toto Ong said the continued support from participants, partners and stakeholders has enabled the festival to grow steadily over the years.

“We are delighted to welcome athletes from different countries and backgrounds to Marina Island Pangkor once again for the Perak Multisport Festival.

“The introduction of Perak Aquathlon this year marks another milestone in the event’s development as we continue to explore new ways to engage the endurance sports community while offering fresh experiences for participants.

“We are also grateful for the support from our partners, government agencies and tourism stakeholders, whose contributions have helped us grow the festival and strengthen Marina Island Pangkor’s position as a venue for endurance sports and sports tourism.”
