Jungle peaks, roaring waterfalls, hidden beaches, and … brutal climbs. The Koh Chang Trail is back in 2025, and it’s daring you to take it on.
Taking place on 27-28 September 2025, this second edition will see 1,500 runners from Thailand and beyond tackle the island’s raw beauty. From steep rainforest ascents to the turquoise-framed Hat Wai Chaek Beach, every step promises a mix of punishment and paradise.
The Distances:
55 km – Ultra challenge with everything Koh Chang can throw at you.
30 km – Mountain-to-sea grit.
15 km – Fast, furious, and scenic.
8 km – Short but no less stunning.
All routes start and finish at Ban Bang Bao School, weaving through landmarks like Tharn Mayom Waterfall, Wat Salak Phet, and Laem Peak. Expect dense evergreen forest, wildlife sightings, and a fair share of quad-burning climbs.
Race Director Alongkorn Jiamanukulkit promises upgraded route management, GPS tracking, and better runner services this year. The theme? “Restoring faith in the trail and community pride.” Part of the proceeds will support local schools, forest protection, and an insurance fund for villagers.
The Mu Ko Chang National Park is backing the event, ensuring nature stays protected while athletes get an unforgettable race experience. And yes – despite news of tensions along the Thai-Cambodian border, Koh Chang is far from the conflict zone and remains secure for visitors.
Organised by Race Up Work Co. and certified by ITRA and TMPSA, Koh Chang Trail 2025 is set to pump over 12 million THB into the local economy, while giving runners the kind of bragging rights money can’t buy.
