Lara Trump, the 35-year-old wife of Eric Trump and mother of six month old son Luke finished the gruelling Las Olas Triathlon in Fort Lauderdale, Florida finishing a commendable fifth place in her age-group.

Trump faced brutal conditions while competing in the 35-39 age group, finished the race in 2h 8m spanning 0.62-mile (1km) swim in the rough Atlantic Ocean, 21-mile (34km) bike race in the street of the South Florida city and 6.2-mile (10km) run along the beach.

Throughout the race, Trump was trailed by a Secret Service agent who walked the beach as she swam, another who biked behind her and yet another who ran alongside of her amongst the 1,200 participants.

‘Exercise helps me maintain my sanity, and it’s a little more important now than ever. It’s a great stress reliever. It’s an incredible feeling to finish one of these races. And I just love training for it.’ said Lara Trump.

The  74.3-degree Farenheit (24 degree Celsius) ocean along Florida’s coast was turbulent with waves hitting 1.8 meters high and infested with jelly fish, therefore the Race Directors made the call to shorten the swim from the regulation 0.9 mile (1.5km).

Despite rough conditions, Lara maintained a calm composure emerging from the swim, and progressed smoothly to the cycling leg of the race on her custom-made Guru bicycle. Her husband, Eric Trump emerged later with son Luke in hand later to support her passion.
