TriFactor Asia opened the new year in spectacular fashion, hosting two major sporting events that energized Singapore’s sports community. With over 1,000 participants—20% of whom were newcomers—and hundreds of supporters, the weekend was a celebration of athleticism, community spirit, and inclusivity.
Two Sports, Two Locations, One Epic Weekend
The weekend featured two standout events: the inaugural Singapore Canoe Marathon 2025 and the Youth Aquathlon League. Together, they brought together athletes of all ages and skill levels to compete, bond, and grow their passion for endurance sports.
Day 1: Singapore Canoe Marathon 2025
Held at the scenic Marina Reservoir, the Singapore Canoe Marathon 2025 was a collaboration between TriFactor Asia and the Singapore Canoe Federation (SCF). The event attracted paddlers of all levels, including international participants from Taiwan, underscoring its growing regional appeal.
Key highlights included remarkable performances in various race categories:
- Men’s Senior (K1 28km): Teo Guang Yi Lucas (02:13:58)
- Women’s Senior (K1 24km): Georgia Ng (02:12:14)
- Men’s Junior (K1 20km): Oliver Euan Bowhay (01:40:25)
- Women’s Junior (K1 16km): Kayla Jana Ng Yu Hsuen (01:26:07)
SCF President Nicholas Yap highlighted the significance of the event in advancing the sport:
“Our goal is to make the Singapore Canoe Marathon an iconic race that unites every paddling discipline across Singapore and the region. The presence of our international participants brought an extra level of excitement to the competition.”
SCF General Manager Han Yong added:
“Partnering with TriFactor for this event has already shown remarkable growth. We’re excited to see the marathon become a regional landmark for paddlers in the years to come.”
The event was graced by Member of Parliament Xie Yao Quan and other SCF leaders, who emphasized the importance of promoting canoeing and water sports in Singapore.
Day 2: Youth Aquathlon League
On Sunday, the focus shifted to inspiring the next generation of multisport athletes through the Youth Aquathlon League. Organized in partnership with the Triathlon Association of Singapore (TAS), the event featured exciting swim-run challenges across various age categories, including a Kids Fun Dash for budding athletes.
Notable winners included:
- Youth Boys Champion: Cheng Yu Lim (00:16:43)
- Youth Girls Champion: Iona Bevan (00:21:47)
Ben Khoo, Board Member of TAS, emphasized the importance of developing young talent:
