Faisal Shokri Shares Beginner 5KM Tips Ahead of Monopoly Run Malaysia 2025

For anyone feeling unsure about their first 5KM run, long-time recreational runner Faisal Shokri has a message: don’t overthink it. Just start.

As Monopoly Run Malaysia 2025 gears up to welcome thousands of participants, Faisal is sharing beginner-friendly advice aimed at helping newcomers show up with confidence instead of pressure. Known for its game-inspired format and relaxed vibes, the Monopoly Run is designed to be welcoming for all fitness levels, especially those lacing up for the very first time.

Faisal knows the feeling well. “I could barely run 200 meters when I started,” he says. “I had to walk, then jog a little. It wasn’t about being fast. It was about showing up.”

His no-frills, honest approach to running has made him a relatable voice in Malaysia’s growing fitness scene. Instead of promoting performance, he focuses on progress — the small wins that build confidence over time.

“The biggest barrier isn’t fitness, it’s mindset,” he explains. “A lot of people think they need to be fit before they run. But you run to get fit. Even walking counts.”

That’s why he believes Monopoly Run Malaysia is the perfect event for first-timers. It removes the pressure and replaces it with fun, community, and a reminder that running can be joyful instead of intimidating.

“There’s no judgement,” says Faisal. “You’ll see people jogging, walking, laughing, stopping for photos. Everyone’s on their own journey.”

To help new runners get started, Faisal recommends a simple weekly routine that fits into any schedule:

Day 1: Jog 1KM, then walk 1KM
Day 2: Rest or take a light walk
Day 3: Slow jog 2KM
Day 4: Rest
Day 5: Try a 3KM jog at your own pace

“Keep it chill,” he adds. “The goal isn’t to be fast. It’s to be consistent. That’s what builds progress.”

For Faisal, running has become more than just exercise. It’s a form of self-discovery, a stress reliever, and a gateway to community. “I’ve made awesome friends through running. And it’s taught me a lot about myself, especially on the hard days.”

His advice for those still hesitating to sign up?

“If you’re already thinking about it, that means part of you wants to try,” he says. “Don’t wait until you’re ‘fit enough.’ Just sign up, show up, and walk if you have to. Sometimes the best version of you shows up when you do the thing you’re scared of.”

Monopoly Run Malaysia 2025 is now open for registration and promises a fun, supportive experience for runners and walkers of all levels. It’s the perfect chance for first-timers to take that first, exciting step.
