SEA Games Triathlon champions Nikko Huelgas and Kim Mangrobang to lead charge in NTT ASTC Subic Bay International Triathlon

2015 SEA Games Triathlon gold medalists Nikko Huelgas and silver medalist Kim Mangrobang are set to lead Philippines’ charge into their country’s longest running triathlon, NTT ASTC Subic Bay International Triathlon on April 29-30.

Held at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, the country’s premier standard triathlon will celebrate its 24th edition with triathletes originating from Japan, New Zealand, Portugal, Australia, Slovakia, Macau, Singapore, Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia in the 1.5 kilometer swim – 40 Km bike – 10 Km run Elite.

The Philippine elite triathletes will race at this event in their preparations to qualify for the biennial 2017 SEA Games Triathlon event which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in August. Excellent and promising performersin all age categories will be qualified and considered in the National Pool and will have the opportunity to represent the Philippines in international competitions.

Under the supervision of International Triathlon Union (ITU) and Asian Triathlon Confederation (ASTC), top local and international elite athletes will get ITU points for Asian and world ranking, and qualification to major international competitions.
