Chris Froome Seeks 5th Tour de France Title With TEAM INEOS As Curtain Closer

Over the last 10 years, from winning Tour de France 4 times with Team SKY amongst multiple titles to a team sponsor change to INEOS, Chris Froome will finally move on. Team INEOS has confirmed that Chris Froome’s contract will not be renewed at the end of this season.

Sir Dave Brailsford said: “Chris has been with us from the start. He is a great champion and we have shared many memorable moments over the years but I do believe this is the right decision for the Team and for Chris. Given his achievements in the sport, Chris is understandably keen to have sole team leadership in the next chapter of his career – which is not something we are able to guarantee him at this point.”

Chris Froome said: “It has been a phenomenal decade with the Team, we have achieved so much together and I will always treasure the memories. I look forward to exciting new challenges as I move into the next phase of my career but in the meantime my focus is on winning a fifth Tour de France with Team INEOS.”

Instead of the usual July grand depart, the Tour de France has been postponed to start from Nice in France on August 29th, and will end in Paris on September 20th. Froome will be seeking his fifth Tour de France title with INEOS as the curtain closer with the team.

Chris Froome’s cycling career is almost synonymous with the team, it’s going to be hard imagining him donning a different jersey.

Froome is said to be joining first-year WorldTour team Israel Start-Up Nation on an undisclosed deal. The team boasts names like André Greipel and Dan Martin in its new roster, and aspires to be a Tour de France title contender next season.
