This year’s Bodyflight World Challenge was the world’s largest indoor skydiving competition. The event saw over 100 teams compete from more than 25 different countries around the world including USA, France, Dubai, Russia, Singapore, Czech Republic, Estonia,  Sweden, Norway, Qatar, Bahrain and many more.

On top of the medal, team “iFly Singapore 1” took away £1,000.00 in prize money for their win. The total prize purse for this year’s competition was £20,000 across 3 disciplines.

iFly Singapore’s contingent at the World challenge consisted of youth ambassadors, better known as “Team Firefly”, Kyra (11 years old) and Yixuan (12 years old), as well as two of iFly Singapore’s top  instructors, Kristopher Reynolds (34 years old) and Joshua Tay (32 years old) also known as “Team Awesome”.  Both teams competed in both the “Dynamic 2-way” and “2 way Freefly – Open” categories. Team Firefly also finished a credible fifth (“5th”) place, while Team Awesome also managed a respectable eighth (“8th”) place in the “2-way Freefly – open” category.

Lawrence Koh, Managing Director and Founder of iFly Singapore shares, “We are absolutely delighted to see Kyra and Kristopher getting the silver medal. We came to Bedford to gain experience in competing with world class flyers as it is our first world championship out of Singapore.  We are very humbled and happy with the results. This has been an incredible experience for the teams, and they did extremely well. Both teams have trained exceptionally hard for this competition, training at least 3-4 times a week since February. It was extremely satisfying to see Yi Xuan and Joshua doing a superb job as well, and we are equally thrilled with their 5th placing for Dynamic 2-way”.

Kristopher Reynolds said, “I’m really pleased with my performance (at the 2014 Bodyflight World Challenge) and to get a second place was just the icing on the cake. We all had an amazing experience here at the World Challenge, and we have all gained so much experience and learnt so much from all the international indoor skydivers in the competition. I can’t wait to get back to Singapore to share my experiences with all the indoor skydivers at iFly Singapore”.

iFly Singapore sponsored the two teams their accommodation, transport and meals during the competition.
