Left in the Dark: SCORE Trailblazer Ultra 2025 Cancelled Weeks Before Race Day

One of Malaysia’s biggest event organisers has shocked the local running scene by cancelling the SCORE Trailblazer Ultra 2025 just weeks before race day. The announcement came without a clear explanation.
SCORE, best known for flagship events like the SCORE Marathon 2025 which drew 33,000 participants this month, made the announcement through a short social media post. Citing only “unforeseen circumstances,” organisers did not offer any further details, leaving runners confused, disappointed, and asking questions.

“Race ni cancel pulokkkk 😂,” one user commented. “😭😭😭 please justify with reason,” added another. The post quickly filled with broken heart emojis, crying faces, and reactions from runners who had already made travel plans or booked accommodation. “Can’t get a full refund,” said one frustrated participant.
The race was scheduled for 24 August and had generated strong interest among the trail community. Many runners had already begun their final training block and were counting down the days. “What a bummer… was really looking forward,” wrote another user.

In the post, SCORE assured that full refunds would be processed within 60 days and that no action is required from participants. However, the lack of transparency has left many wondering how such a well-established organiser could call off an event this close to race day without further context.
The event’s tagline now feels heavier than ever. “Sometimes the hardest trail is the one we can’t run.” For runners across the country, this trail was never supposed to end before it began.
