Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin had an unfortunate accident while riding on his road bike in the Banting, Selangor on Sunday. The minister suffered some bruises after hitting a pothole, he tweeted on social media.
Interestingly, the Kuala Langat Road Works department responded to Khairy on Twitter, too. The department apologised for the incident, resolving to immediately act on the pothole, and wished for Khairy’s quick recovery.

The Rembau-based minister has been an avid multisport athlete in the last few years and was seen participating in duathlon and triathlon races. He is often spotted on popular cycling routes in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor and even participated in the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon Virtual Run recently.
Perhaps, this is a wake-up call for our Road Works Department to respond to damages on our roads for the greater good of the citizens.
