With so many race cancellations and postponements taking place, it is refreshing to hear that this year’s BUFF Epic Ultimate Trails of Penang will take place on 24th October.
Trail running races are set turn our heartbeats up higher, and we are dying to get back into the greenery to test ourselves.
Starting and ending from the Taman Ruang Car Park, there will be amendments to the original plan, basing on the current safe distancing measures.

Only the following race categories will take place:
- 40km – 7am Sat 24th Oct; Cut-off 7pm Sat 24th Oct
- 12km – 8am Sat 24th Oct; Cut-off 12 noon, Sat 24th Oct
- 20km – 9am Sat 24th Oct; Cut-off 4pm, Sat 24th Oct
According to Race Director Ng Seow Kong on the race’s Facebook page, “For 100km and 60km who wish to downgrade to 40km, 20km or 12km, you’ll be allowed to do that, with the fee differences refunded. Otherwise, your entries will be deferred to the 2021 edition.”
Let’s get dust off our trail running shoes, and training is about to get serious.
