Companies usually spend money on advertising to promote their events on Social Media, but it’s weird in this day and age, that the cancellation of the Spartan Race in Singapore Stadium went unannounced on Social Media.

According to AllSingaporeStuff which posted a complaint on their website, the contributor stated:

I signed up for the Spartan Stadium race, a few weeks ago, and today received an email that “The upcoming race at the stadium will not take place as scheduled due to unforeseen circumstances” No explanation on what the circumstances were at all.

The organiser also only offered to defer their races to Spartan Bintan race or an undetermined date in 2017 for the Singapore Spartan Race, but did not offer an option for refund.

“How can I trust this company to go to Bintan anyway, after their abrupt cancellation of an event after taking our money? The other option is to go for the next race in 2017? Am I supposed to keep myself free and train for an event which doesn’t even have a date set yet?”, continued the contributor.

Numerous other Singapore Spartan participants have been posting messages on the Spartan Race Singapore Facebook page, and some received private replies a few days later. Why the hush-hush Spartan Race Singapore, when you’re so loud about the ‘AROO’ call and all that hype about your race?

It’s not right to not offer refunds outright, and this practise tarnishes the global Spartan Race name, and it’s sponsors of the Singapore race. Do it right, Spartan Race Singapore!
