Reigning IRONMAN World Champion Solveig Løvseth continued her dominant season by securing victory at the IRONMAN Hamburg European Women’s Championship on Sunday. The Norwegian powerhouse broke the tape in 8:11:11, shaving just over a minute off her finishing time from the same event last year. The win adds the European Championship title to her growing resume, which already includes the North American Championship crown.

The race began with Lotte Wilms and Holly Lawrence leading out of the water, but the dynamics quickly shifted on the bike course as Marjolaine Pierré surged to the front. Løvseth patiently rode her way into second place before making her decisive move during the marathon. Clocking a blistering run time of 2:49:21, Løvseth eventually overtook Pierré and controlled the remainder of the race to claim her fourth IRONMAN victory in the past twelve months.

Germany’s Laura Philipp demonstrated remarkable persistence to secure a second-place finish in front of a home crowd. After trailing significantly following the swim, Philipp conserved energy on the bike and chased down the leaders during the run to cross the line in 8:12:29, safely earning a qualifying slot for Kona. Denmark’s Katrine Christensen steadily moved through the field to claim the final spot on the podium with a time of 8:15:20.

The victory earned Løvseth 5,000 points in the Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series, extending her commanding lead at the top of the season standings to a total of 12,385 points. Reflecting on the grueling effort required to maintain her position, Løvseth admitted that running scared for the entire marathon took a massive mental and physical toll. Despite feeling awful at the finish line, the newly crowned European Champion expressed immense pride in pushing her limits to secure another major title.
