Registration is now open for the Ironman Australia in Port Macquarie on 01st May 2016.
Rolling Swim Start
Athletes are set off in one continuous line for the swim start. It will take approximately 15 minutes to get the entire field across the swim start line. In effect, this will create a “time trial” dynamic for the race and for the determination of the final results. Each athlete individual race time will start when they cross the swim start timing mat, under the swim start arch.
On the bike for 180km, the route will take you on a 2-lap course heading south from Port Macquarie taking in amazing coastal scenery on Pacific & Ocean Drives to Camden Haven & return.
On the last run leg, the 42.2km run features a 4-lap course first heading east to pass along the iconic rock wall before heading north to Settlement Point and finishing in the historic Town Green Precinct of Port Macquarie.
Approach the finish line in winning fashion as Tim Reed did in the 2015 edition. Lift your arms up in the air, and hear the words, “You are an Ironman”.
