Virtual runs mean different things to different folks. Some like it, some do not. For 28-year old Nur Farah Nabila binti Mokhtar from Petaling Jaya, she loves it so passionately that she clocked ultra long distances on virtual runs in 2020.
Farah’s running journey started in 2015, typically to get fit and lose weight. Along the way, she joined the Setia Alam Trail Running Club in Selangor and counts Elmina Central Park as her favourite beautiful and not-so-crowded running spot. Her training routine consists of 10km runs four times a week on weekdays, followed by a weekend hike.

2020 was a year of personal achievements for Farah. She completed her first full marathon at Twincity Marathon at the start of the year. After the COVID pandemic started, she dabbled in ultra distance virtual runs: 200km for Route 68, 145km for Kebaya Run, 42km for Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon and 50km for the Malaysia Mountain Trail Festival twice!
In 2021, Farah aims to maintain her active lifestyle and just be ready to take part in overseas runs when the opportunity arises, with her running motto – “Sweat is pretty”!
