4 Green Smoothies for your holiday nutrients

Start your holidays off right with these nutritious creations.

Just before the holiday season hits is the perfect time to load up on nutrients. Green smoothies, made with a mix of fruits and vegetables, are often packed with the vitamins and nutrients that can help you eat better. Try making one of these green smoothies in your blender today.

1. Leafy Green Berry Smoothie

Frozen berries and green vegetables are among the most popular ingredients for smoothies. Both groups are full of vitamins and minerals and offer different flavors, so why not combine the two?

Gather these ingredients to make a sweet, nutrient-rich smoothie:

  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 1/2 cup kale
  • 1/2 cup romaine lettuce or arugula
  • 1 cup fresh mixed berries (strawberry, blackberries, raspberries)
  • 1/2 apple, chopped and seeded
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • Ice

Pour each of these ingredients into your performance blender and combine them with the SMOOTHIE function. Add more milk or ice as needed until your have a green, fruit-filled smoothie that’s the consistency and sweetness you desire.

2. Creamy Avocado and Grape Smoothie

A green smoothie doesn’t need to have that earthy, vegetable taste. This smoothie is rich and smooth with a hint of natural, sweet fruit flavoring. Make your own with these ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 avocado, peeled and pitted
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 1 1/2 cups grapes
  • 1 chopped honeydew melon
  • Ice
  • Your 8-cup performance blender

Combine the ingredients in your blender jar and select to SMOOTHIE function to blend. You’ll be left with three servings of light green smoothies that are loaded with vitamin C, fiber, protein, vitamin A and potassium.

3. Kiwi Mint Smoothie

Kiwi and other tropical fruits are great for smoothies because they taste strong and exotic. Try this smoothie option that’s packed with a variety of unique flavors. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 3 kiwis, cut and peeled
  • 1/2 cup pineapple
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1/3 cup fresh mint
  • Ice

Add all of your ingredients to your blender and watch it do the rest. This cold, sweet smoothie is the perfect option for adding a little protein powder or other supplements to.

4. Green Peach Chia Smoothie

Chia seeds are quickly becoming a popular superfood because they’re full of vitamins and minerals, such as calcium, omega-3, fiber and protein. Add this small seed to your diet in this tasty smoothie option. Gather these ingredients:

  • 2 peaches, cut and pitted
  • 3 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup kale
  • 1/2 cup baby spinach
  • Ice

Simply add all of your ingredients to your blender and turn it to its SMOOTHIE function or HIGH. Pour into a tall glass and enjoy after a workout or for an afternoon snack.
