Viper Challenge Johor 2025 Makes Triumphant Debut with Over 3,200 Participants

The highly anticipated Viper Challenge Johor 2025 presented by Tourism Johor stormed into Iskandar Puteri over the weekend, marking a historic first edition in the southern state and drawing more than 3,200 participants from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and across South-East Asia.

Organised for the first time under the leadership of MUSE Group Sdn Bhd, the event delivered a refreshed and elevated race experience that lived up to Viper Challenge’s reputation as the largest obstacle race in South-East Asia. Participants took on iconic Viper obstacles alongside new challenges designed to test strength, endurance, and teamwork, with many describing it as one of the toughest yet most rewarding editions to date.

The two-day event, held on 23–24 August 2025, was headlined by Tourism Johor as Presenter Sponsor and positioned as a flagship sports tourism showcase ahead of Visit Johor Year 2026. Strategic backing from the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MYCEB) further underscored its role in strengthening Malaysia’s profile on the global sports tourism map.

Riduwan Matni, Chief Executive Officer of MUSE Group, expressed pride in the successful debut. “We’re not just hosting a race here, we’re building a legacy. Viper Challenge Johor presented by Tourism Johor will now stand as a yearly tradition in the sporting calendar. With categories of 7KM, 12KM, 21KM, and Viper Kids for ages 4 to 13, the challenge proved accessible to all and brought communities together.”

The strong turnout and enthusiastic response not only reaffirmed Viper Challenge’s enduring appeal but also showcased Johor as a premier hub for mass participation sports. With its debut in the south exceeding expectations, the Viper Challenge legacy looks set to grow even stronger in the years to come.
