Taiping Road Closure on 19 November for Larian Hari Keputeraan Sultan Nazrin Shah 2023

In preparation for the Larian Hari Keputeraan Sultan Nazrin Shah 2023 scheduled for Sunday, 19 November 2023, authorities in Taiping have announced the closure and diversion of a total of 44 routes. The closures, set to commence at 5:15 am on Sunday, will remain in effect until the conclusion of the event, as confirmed by Taiping District Police Chief ACP Razlam Ab Hamid.

The starting point of the run at Dataran Warisan Taiping will impact a variety of routes, including Jalan Alang Ahmad/Public Bank, Jalan Manecksha, Jalan Alang Ahmad/Jalan Kota, Jalan Pasar/Jalan Alang Ahmad, and Jalan Tamingsari.

Numerous other routes will be affected, encompassing Jalan Ong Saik/Jalan Barrack, Jalan Lim Tee Hooi, Jalan Lim Teong Chye, Jalan Panglima Ah Chong, Jalan Chun Thye Ping, Lorong Arasarathnam, Jalan Yusof, Jalan Abdul Jalil, pintu belakang Hospital Taiping (reserved for ambulances only), and the traffic light at Jalan Stesyen/Assam Kumbang.

Additional closures and diversions include exits from the BHP Taman Happy Park gas station heading to Lotus supermarket, Taman Zenith intersection, Jalan Anak Bukit, Hotel Sense traffic light, the intersection to Columbia Asia Hospital, Jalan Kelab Lama, Jalan Muzium/Jalan Temenggung, lorong Kuarters Penjara, and lorong Kuarters Penjara sepanjang Jalan Taming Sari.

Noteworthy locations such as the traffic light at Penjara Taiping, Jalan Lumba Kuda, Lorong SP/2, Simpang 3 Hotel Grand Baron, Simpang 3 Taman Botani, and Simpang 3 Jalan Padang Tembak are also subject to closure and diversion.

Furthermore, intersections including the traffic light at Masjid Kamunting, SSL Hotel traffic light, entrance and exit at ECO Kamunting shop, Bukit Mas traffic light, entrance and exit at Taman Dato Seri Razak, and the intersection of Jalan Kamunting Lama/Taman Lake View will experience disruptions.

The intersections of Jalan Kamunting Lama/Taiping Vista Hill, New Club intersection, Dataran Kedamaian, Tasik Lestari/Taman Aun Say intersection, Simpang 3 Kamal Bina/Jalan Samanea Saman, in front of the Tiong Hua Association Hall, entrance and exit at KFC Jalan Taman Tasik, and Taman Tasik are also included in the event’s impact zone.

With these significant traffic alterations, the police strongly advise the public to utilize alternative routes, adhere to all posted signs and instructions, and plan their journeys accordingly. Cooperation is encouraged to minimise inconvenience and ensure the smooth flow of traffic in the area during the race.
