South Korea were crowned champions of the AVC Women’s Volleyball Cup two thousand and twenty-six after defeating Chinese Taipei in straight sets in the gold medal match on Sunday.

Combining a disciplined defence with efficient attacking, the South Koreans established control early in the championship contest, taking the opening set twenty-five to nineteen before replicating the exact scoreline in the second.

Chinese Taipei showed greater resistance in the third set and stayed within striking distance for much of the frame, but South Korea maintained their composure in the closing stages to seal a twenty-five to twenty-two victory.

The straight-sets triumph capped an impressive campaign for South Korea, who navigated a competitive field of twelve national teams over nine days, whilst Chinese Taipei concluded an outstanding tournament with the silver medal.
