Register in April: The New-Look BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by adidas

The landscape of Southeast Asian distance running is set for a major transformation as Singapore’s only national marathon enters a bold new chapter. Rebranded as the BYD Singapore International Marathon presented by adidas, the event has unveiled a refreshed identity, a new organizer, and a runner-centric philosophy for its 2026 edition.
Fresh Partnerships, New Vision
In a significant shift, SG International Marathon Pte Ltd (SGIMPL) has been appointed as the new event organizer. Formed by the joint expertise of Betterment Sports and SCORE Sports, the team behind the race consists of avid runners dedicated to elevating the participant experience.
The marathon has also secured powerhouse backing. BYD, Singapore’s top car brand, steps in as the title sponsor, while adidas makes history as the event’s first-ever presenting sponsor. Standard Chartered Bank continues its long-standing 24-year association with the race, transitioning into the role of Official Bank.
Prioritizing the Runner Experience
In a move that signals a “quality over quantity” approach, organizers have introduced a cap of 52,000 race entries. This limit is specifically designed to manage the race environment and ensure a more enjoyable, high-quality experience for every participant.
Shalindran Sathiyanesan, Event Director at SGIMPL, emphasized that the new vision is shaped by a love for the sport. “Our team is made up of avid runners… our love for running shapes our approach and frames our vision,” he stated, noting that the event will focus on runner welfare and a holistic, year-round community engagement strategy.
The Race Weekend Schedule (4-6 December 2026)
The event will feature a packed three-day programme designed to accommodate runners of all levels:
  • Friday Morning: Kids’ categories.
  • Friday Evening: 5km and Standard Chartered 10km races.
  • Saturday Morning: adidas Half Marathon.
  • Sunday Morning: The flagship BYD Marathon.
The BYD Marathon remains a crown jewel in the region, holding the prestige of being Southeast Asia’s only World Athletics Gold Label Road Race. All other categories are course-measured and certified by AIMS.
Exclusive Gear and Tech
Participants can look forward to more than just a race. adidas is launching an expanded range of Singapore-exclusive merchandise, including the official race t-shirt for all participants. Serious gear enthusiasts will be watching for the Adizero Boston 13 and Evo SL footwear, featuring exclusive BYD Singapore International Marathon colourways.
On the course, BYD will showcase its latest sustainable technology, with a comprehensive fleet of BYD and DENZA electric vehicles featured at key touchpoints throughout the weekend.
