The formidable home quartet, comprising Sara Joy Hong Mae Chen, Qi Yi Yap, Esther Joy Hong Li Chen, and Martyn Wen Xuan Lim, crossed the finish line in a cumulative time of 1 hour, 20 minutes, and 18 seconds to secure a prestigious victory on home soil.

The triumphant Malaysian outfit successfully fended off a fierce international challenge from Russia, who were forced to settle for second place after finishing 47 seconds adrift with a time of 1:21:05. The battle for the final spot on the podium concluded with Kyrgyzstan securing third place after clocking 1:23:02, whilst Macau narrowly missed out on the medals to finish fourth with a time of 1:23:28.

The host nation’s winning momentum continued on the closing day of the championship through a standout performance in the under-15 Super Sprint category. National youth prospect Ashven Mannoh showcased impressive stamina across the cycling and running segments to secure a hard-fought bronze medal for Malaysia, completing the demanding race with an overall time of 36 minutes and 50 seconds.

The junior category was ultimately dominated by a formidable Czech Republic contingent, with Maxim Strangmuller clinching the individual championship in a blistering time of 33:23, followed by compatriot Hugo Keilwerth who claimed the silver medal in 35:29. The successful tournament, hosted at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, welcomed 500 athletes from 34 countries, cementing the district’s growing reputation as a premier destination for international endurance sports.
