As PETRONAS Le Tour de Langkawi 2020 moves closer to island of Langkawi, the mythical powers draws Terengganu Inc TSG’s Harrif Saleh for yet another stage win in stage seven held in Alor Setar, Kedah.
The 31-year old won another bunch sprint beating Italian Matteo Pelucci (Bardiani-CSF) and Australian Taj Jones (ARA Pro Cycling Sunshine Coast) to the finish line impressively. Hariff now stands as the only Asian rider to have achieved three stage victories in the 25-year history of the tour.
Harrif’s double win has now edged him up to third place in the points classification (green jersey), five points behind leader Max Walscheid and three points behind Jones in second place.
Leading in the overall standings, Malaysian team – Sapura Cycling’s Danilo Celano remained in charge of the PETRONAS yellow jersey, while compatriot Muhamad Nur Aiman retains the Best Climber’s (KOM) red jersey. The final stage today will loop around Kuah town on Langkawi island over a 108.5km course.
