Brownlee brothers unveils TeamGB Olympic Triathlon Kit by Stella McCartney and Adidas
With the final countdown upon us, adidas and Stella McCartney have today unveiled the brand new Team GB kit for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The cutting-edge designs mix tradition with 21st Century attitude and incorporates a new official and unique British Coat of Arms – commissioned by adidas and created by The College of Arms.
The unique coat of arms will be used across Team GB and ParalympicsGB during Rio 2016 and was specifically designed as a unifying symbol across the two teams and the multiple sports that will feature at the Games this summer.
The kits are designed to optimise performance and are, on average, 10% lighter than in 2012 – helping athletes go further and faster.
“The new Coat Of Arms, specially commissioned for this project, and traditional Union Flag hues sit alongside bold textures and modern silhouettes to create a strong identity and make the athletes feel like a team,” added Stella McCartney.
The two-year design process has included extensive consultation with some of Team GB’s most famous faces including, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Tom Daley and Laura Trott, alongside the British Olympic Association Athletes’ Commission.
