The 2016 Spartan Race World Championships will be hosted in North Lake Tahoe at Squaw Valley Resort in California, USA on October 1-2nd, 2016. Located a short ride from Lake Tahoe, this epic venue was once host to the 1960 Olympic Winter Games. The world’s top athletes will collide on the course with a shared goal: to be the Spartan Race World Champion.
The most anticipated obstacle racing weekend of the year will feature three Spartan Race distances to choose from over two days of racing: The Spartan Beast, the Spartan Ultra Beast and the Spartan Sprint. Which challenge are you ready to accept?
For this year’s World Championship, Spartan returns to the same waters that baptised men’s champion Robert Killian, of the United States and the women’s winner, the Czech Republic’s Zuzana Kocumova into the highest ranks of Spartan honour.
Despite its familiar name, Lake Tahoe will take racers through a fresh network of trails this October. With open, competitive, and elite racers representing an unprecedented number of countries from across the globe, this year’s Spartan Race World Championship will require more tenacity and lift spirits higher than ever before.
