Under Armour opens a new brand house in Queensbay Mall, Penang, taking a step further to expand the business one year after it made its way to Malaysia. Penang will be the first in the northern region of Malaysia and it is undeniably a good chance for athletes and fitness enthusiasts in Penang to grab their favourite Under Armour sports apparel at their homeland.
The Under Armour brand house in Queensbay Mall evokes a high energy yet clean façade that adds to the ethos of the sporting phenomenon. The Under Armour brand identity and personality are brought to life with this new retail destination.
Customers will shop in a modern ambience featuring accented metal and wood furnishings and the distinctive Under Armour Throne; large black leather seats with the logo stitched in red, prominently installed within the footwear zone. The brand house measuring 1,600 square feet is the result of a well-planned expansion strategy in the high-traffic area of Bayan Lepas, providing high prominence and visibility.
“The Malaysian market has certainly been very supportive and responsive towards our brand since we stepped foot in Malaysia a little over a year ago. We believe there is a great potential for this market and that is why we will be actively growing it for the year, with the aim of making Malaysia our largest market in Southeast Asia,” said Adrian Chai, Chief Marketing Officer of Triple Pte. As part of the brand’s next phase of growth, Triple Pte. Ltd. will be partnering with Neonshine Sdn. Bhd., well-known for their track record in bringing in notable brands and will take the Under Armour brand to the next level.
