Three mighty Malaysians represent at inaugural Spartan Race Asia Pacific Championships in Hong Kong
Three mighty Malaysian Spartans are en route to the inaugural Spartan Race Asia Pacific Championships in Hong Kong race tomorrow. Mohd Saddam Bin Mohd Pittli, Colleen R. Augustin and Loh Chee Koon (CK) are champions and heroes in their own rights and will be proudly representing Malaysia and Spartan Race Malaysia.
Spartan Race – the world’s largest obstacle race and endurance brand recently launched the Asia Pacific Championships which has 4 qualifying events starting with the Hong Kong Sprint (5km + & 20+ obstacles) on April 22nd, the Taiwan Super (13km+ & 22+ obstacles) on May 20th, the Korea Super on June 10th, the Malaysia Super on July 9th, and culminating with the Australia Beast at the end of November.
Female Elite athlete, Colleen R Augustin is a two-time Women’s Elite Spartan Sprint Malaysia Champion with wins in both 2015 and 2017 events. She is a professional Fitness Instructor and spends her time training and helping people increase their fitness levels and embrace a healthy lifestyle.
Mohd Saddam Bin Mohd Pittli is a Lance Corporal in the Malaysian Armed forces and two time Spartan Elite Champion, topping the podium at the 21km long Spartan Race Malaysia Beast event in 2016 and again at the recent Spartan Malaysia Sprint 2017.
Rounding up the trio is a true hero of the Malaysian sporting scene, Ultra Marathon Runner and Reebok Ambassador Loh Chee Koon (CK), a one-armed Spartan whose indomitable spirit has seen him complete multiple Spartan events including the 2016 Spartan World Championships in Lake Tahoe, U.S.A.
Spartan Race (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, the organizers of Malaysia’s recent Spartan Sprint 2017 in Semenyih will sponsor these elite athletes to attend each leg of the Asia Pacific Championship Series. They will get full support including race entries, flights accommodation and complete racing apparel supplied by Reebok. The three sponsored athletes are seasoned racers with many other accolades, and hope to clinch podium spots at the first event of the APAC Championship series in Hong Kong.
