Poo Vasanthan and Noor Amelia win Best Malaysians at Penang Bridge International Marathon (PBIM)

Poo Vasanthan and Noor Amelia won Best Malaysians at the Penang Bridge International Marathon (PBIM) 2022 concluded recently.

Nearly 26,000 participants from 60 countries celebrated the grand comeback at the Penang Bridge International Marathon (PBIM), competing in the various categories.

Staging a strong race after his recent win at the KL Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM), Vasanthan clocked 02:37:59 and placed 6th in among the top 10 spots in the Open which were swept by Kenyans.

Furthermore, Noor Amelia also came off her recent maiden win at KLSCM by finishing in 03:16:21 and placed 7th in the open. She beat another favourite, Penny Loh Chooi Fern who finished in 03:34:58.

Penang State Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin said about 5,500 participants ran the full marathon (42 kilometres), while more than 10,000 contested the half-marathon (21km) and over 9,000 competed in the 10km run.
