Poly student is Singapore’s 1st Red Bull-endorsed skateboarder

SINGAPORE – Dressed in a baggy white T-shirt with his brightly coloured skateboard leaning casually against his chair, Farris Rahman seems like any ordinary 18-year-old.

Only his Red Bull cap hints at his extraordinary feat.

The Republic Polytechnic student is the first Singaporean skateboarder to become a Red Bull-endorsed athlete, and now joins European Red Bull’s international family of about 500 sportsmen and women.

This elite circle of athletes includes Formula One superstar Sebastian Vettel, extreme wakeboarder Parks Bonifay and base jumper Felix Baumgartner, who shattered all records with his jump from the stratosphere.
