Garmin Squad ignites running spirit at Subang Ria Recreational Park

Since 2018, the Garmin Squad has ignited the running spirit in the Klang Valley and has also spread like wild fire up north to Penang!

Bright and early at the Subang Ria Recreational Park recently, the squadron ran loops around the 1.2km route for long (10-15km) and short distances. Runners were highly encouraged with the lead by Garmin sponsored athletes, Allison Yee, Lim Ee-Van, Mohd Firdaus and Soh Wai Ching in groups according to different running paces.

Allison Yee led the 10km distance group at the pace of 5:30 (m:s) per km, which had the biggest number of runners. Looking petite and demure, this Triathlete runs a mean pace onto podiums at most races and will be gunning for a spot at the upcoming 2019 Philippines SEA Games in Triathlon and/or Duathlon.

Garmin also provides watches for trial during the session, with the Forerunner 35, Forerunner 30, Instinct and Vivoactive 3 available during this particular session.

Some parents were also seen with their young ones in tow, setting a good example and introducing them to sports at a tender age.

“It doesn’t matter how fast you run, but if you want to run far, run together.”

Garmin Squad also gave out loyalty gifts in the form of collapsible cups to runners whom have attended three sessions this year. It also lends into the eco-friendly theme to reduce single-use cups.

Introducing the young ones to sport early – good parenting!
