Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Trainers Bruninho Barbosa and One FC Champion Peter Davis were on hand to guide fitness enthusiasts whom had signed up for free workout sessions organised by Under Armour at Monarchy MMA in Bangsar, KL recently.
The MMA cross training workout sessions were part of Under Armour’s Earn Your Armour Challenge 4 over a duration of six weeks with more than sixty participants joining them weekly. Throughout the challenge, participants gained encouragement and training tips from an experienced team guiding them through every step of the way and pushed them to “Earn Your Armour”.
Under Armour’s Brand Ambassador, Linora Low also followed the workout sessions and picked up MMA Skills in Brazillian Jiu Jitsu like how to grapple or do an arm block.
“The first time I did an arm block with Peter Davis, the One FC Champ. I didn’t know what to do, and he said ‘Come at me like a rabid woman’,” said Linora Low.
The MMA cross training has definitely improved Linora’s stamina and has enabled her to improved certain techniques especially the Bear Crawl. The warmup is usually the hardest, but hang in there and you will improve more in the workout. Quite a number of her friends and fans have joined her, to interact and enjoy the workout.
“To everyone who has been following me and Under Armour, do come and join us as it’s so much fun. On top of it, you get motivation as you see everybody really just pushing themselves like crazy,” recommends Linora Low.
Under Armour recommends compression tops for this MMA cross training workout sessions to help athletes recover after a workout or game. It’s proven to deliver 50% less muscle soreness and fatigue, and 50% faster muscle repair.
