An American CrossFit coach is being celebrated as a hero after he selflessly saved a family following a car crash. Just like every other morning, Greg Pena was preparing to coach a class at the Los Gatos Swim and Racquet club, right next to a highway in San Francisco, U.S.
Unexpectedly, a mother driving her three children, crashed her Ford Expedition and overturned.
When he heard a loud crash and saw a plume of smoke, without hesitating, Pena scaled the 25 foot wall using an adjacent fence and onto the highway within seconds. He attended to the children and helped the family away from the vehicle.
When asked about saving the family, Pena said, “I don’t like to be called a hero, I like to think that anybody would’ve done this. I hope anybody would’ve done this.”
A firefighter at the scene was impressed by Pena’s acts, and has nominated him a citizen’s medal of valor award in Santa Clara County.
