The 2020 edition of BMW Berlin Marathon was officially cancelled over the weekend.
The organiser had made a pre-announcement some time back, but wanted more time so they could finalise the next steps of actions.

For the affected registrants, they are provided with the two options below, extracted from the official email to these registrations:
- 1. Transfer of the personal race entry to the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON 2021 on September 26 of next year.
If you select this option, you will receive a personalized voucher code until the middle of October at the latest to register for the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON 2021. This choice to transfer your race entry is considered a binding registration for the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON 2021; our terms and conditions of participation and general terms and conditions apply.
- 2. Repayment of the participation fee
If you select this option, we will refund your participation fee for this year’s BMW BERLIN-MARATHON 2020 within 14 days after the end of the offer period to the account or credit card used for registration.

Affected participants will need to decide on one of their two options by 8 July.
Separately, the 2021 edition registration is not open yet. However, the date of 26 Sep 2021 has been decided to facilitate planning for all parties.
