Sam Betten leads the charge at Regent 5150 triathlon at Subic Bay, Philippines

Professional triathlete Sam Betten will be leading the charge in the Elite category of the Regent 5150 triathlon held in Subic Bay, Philippines next month.

The third edition of the Regent 5150 and the second edition of the Sunrise Sprint will be back in Subic Bay on June 4th, featuring a packed men’s pro division with the top Australian triathletes gunning for glory. Ben Allen, the 2016 Australian ITU Cross Triathlon champion and a former XTERRA Asia Pacific elitist, Mitch Robins and Dan Brown will be providing a tough challenge to Betten who’s looking for a third consecutive title.

The women professionals will also be looking to reap the coveted title in this Olympic distance race which covers a 1.5km swim, 40km bike and 10km run. Australians Dimity-Lee Duke, Kerry Mulholland and Annelies Jeffries and talented Hungarian Anna Eberhardt will provide the fireworks at the race.

The Sunrise Sprint will feature a race for beginners with a 750m swim, a 20k bike and a 5k run.
