If you’re interested in trying a revolutionary new format to Triathlon, there will be a simple, informal and fun gathering with none of the usual T-Shirt or Medals that the regular event would have.

Live More events, are bringing together some like-minded triathletes to have a bit of competitive fun together in a shorter than sprint triathlon format.

It would be very much appreciated if Relay participants would be present for the Student Race & help Marshall the course. Also, very much appreciated if Relay participants would assist with the clean-up as well.

The Format: Every team must have 2 males & 2 females. Every member of the team will swim, bike & run the full course and tag the next team member (other than for the final team member) in the “tag zone”, the location and extent of this area will be advised/shown at the Relay Race Briefing.

The race will start with a Lady team member, after her swim, bike, run she must tag to a male team mate who will also complete his swim, bike, run and then tag the 2nd Lady team member for her to do her swim, bike, run before she tags the 2nd Male team member who will cross the finish line after his swim, bike, run.

Assuming 10 teams that are expected to enter there will be 2 heats with 5 teams racing in each heat. The top 3 teams in each heat will qualify to race in the final where 6 teams will race for podium finishes.

Before the final the other 4 teams will be offered to race again in a “Plate” type play off for final placings. So each team will have 2 races which will be great “interval” training for everyone.

The Course & Distances: The swim is 100m (4 lengths of the College Pool). The bike is 3.64km (2 loops of the bike loop – see map attached). The run is 1km (1 loop of the bike loop – see map attached).

The Timing System: There won’t be any other than a total time for the winning team which will act as the Course Record and be a challenge to be beaten for other teams and at other “meets”. If you or your team members want individual splits that will be your responsibility at this stage.

The Fee: MYR100 per team entry is purely to cover costs of equipment transport to the venue and use of the facilities.

The Rewards: Camaraderie, Fun & a Great Work Out. As well as the honour of victory and the holding of the course record, as it’s the inaugural “meet”.  The wining team on the day will all receive complimentary entry to race in the Xterra Asia Pacific Tour Triathlon Championship in Langkawi on 7 May 2016.

Note: Please note that it is OK for a family to enter but it is not suitable for novices/newbies to the sport as we won’t be running it like an event with pool safety and directional marshalls.

To Register: For more info and to register, please download the files, and email the MS Excel sheet to elsa @ livemoreevents.com. Only complete teams will be entertained. Please fulfill the payment on event day.
